Visiting Bastei Saxon Switzerland Mountains was breathtaking and although we booked the trip because of the Dresden destination we enjoyed Bastei even more, our young guide Andrew was incredible and very likeable, Thank you again Andrew you made the trip enjoyable.
A little bit for everyone.

We loved the stop at the National Park. It was a beautiful day for a hike and it broke up the time to go to Dresden. The small, local eating place we stopped at was great as well. Loved the fresh local food. Dresden Christmas market was beautiful. Larger than the ones we had been to in Prauge, had just enough time to get all the shopping I wanted to done.
Could have been better organised

Dresden Market was heaving, first market of the year plus first market since covid. Could not walk around just so packed. we had an unfortunate experience whereby we travelled in to Germany to the Bastei Bridge then for some strange reason we then travelled back to Czech Republic for lunch then back in to Germany, arriving in Dresden and no where to park, ended up with about 50 mins at the market because we had to get back to Prague!! We were refunded but still can't fathom out why we went back in to CR for lunch!! Lunch was ok, felt we spent too much time at the Bastei Bridge as everything then seemed very rushed. Guide was nice though, felt sorry for her she was obviously stressed,
Dresden Christmas Market & Bastei Saxon Tour December 2022

We had a lovely time on this tour; however, the tour was not exactly as decribed in the Viator write up; and, therefore, we did not get the experience we paid for. We spent more time at the Bastei Saxon than I believe we were supposed to and, for some people, it was not an easy walk as described in the write up. By the time we got to Dresden, we only had approximately 45-50 minutes maximum to see one Christmas Market. By that time, the market was extremely crowded and not as enjoyable as we hoped. It was so crowded, we could hardly get close to the booths. If we had gotten there earlier in the day, it would have been less crowded and we would have had the opportunity to see more! The write up indicated we would have 3 hours at the markets in Dresden, and we were supposed to get a 2-hour walking tour of Dresden; which we did not get. The write up indicated snacks & water would be provided; we were offered 1 snack and a bottle of water at the end of the tour. I believe we only got the snack/water because someone asked about it (they were in the back of the van). The write up also indicated that lunch would be in Dresden; after touring the Park in Germany, we drove back to Czech Republic for lunch, then drove back to Germany (another hour) to Dresden. I think this is where we also lost a lot of time that was supposed to be allotted for the Christmas Market. Our tour Guide, Christina, was very nice; however, she was very soft spoken and really needed to have a microphone, especially while driving in the minivan. We could hardly hear her from the second row and those in the back of the van could not hear her at all. The whole purposed of purchasing this tour for me was the trip to Dresden; the Bastei Saxon was just an added bonus. Extremely disappointed that we did not get the appropriate amount of time in Dresden and did not get what we paid for. The other 6 people on our tour totally agreed that the day was not as they expected.
